Fuel Cells<\/h1>\n

Fuel cells generate electricity from hydrogen. They are used for many applications in clean mobility and logistics as well as in secure energy supply. <\/h4>\n

ZBT stands for comprehensive expertise in the development, design and qualification<\/strong> of components, materials and production processes related to fuel cells. In addition, ZBT offers practical system solutions for hydrogen technologies. <\/p>\n

A particular focus is placed on all levels of the technological value chain<\/strong> \u2013 especially polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells \u2013 from materials research to system integration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

Membrane Electrode Assemblies<\/h2>\n

The membrane electrode assembly<\/strong> (MEA) forms the heart of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEM-FC). It is here that chemical energy is converted into electrical energy. We analyse electrochemical processes<\/strong> in fuel cells and characterise their components<\/strong>, such as catalysts, polymers, membranes and gas diffusion layers (GDS), using physical and chemical methods.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Bipolar Plates and Seals<\/h2>\n

We develop materials<\/strong> for bipolar plates and gaskets as well as innovative manufacturing processes<\/strong> to create sustainable solutions for fuel cell stacks.<\/p>\n

We also actively support customers and partners in the development and production<\/strong> of high-performance bipolar plate and gasket solutions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n
